Ware and Stanstead Abbotts community donate over 300 eggs in easter initiative

The local community from Ware and Stanstead Abbotts have come together to donate, as 313 easter eggs have been delivered to children across nine local schools in the area.

The project, led by officers from the Ware and Stanstead Abbotts Neighbourhood Policing Team was repeated following the success of the effort from the local people at Easter last year.

This effort wouldn’t have been possible without the help of local businesses Millbrook Women’s Club and Keith Ian Estate Agents in Ware, who kindly offered their premises as drop off locations.

PCSO Donna Atwood said: “Stories like this are great. It is one of the great things we get to do as PCSOs. It allows us to engage with the local community, finding out the issues that are bothering them most, and at the same time, we can facilitate a community effort, in bringing happiness to children.

These children may have not got an easter egg this year, if it wasn’t for the community of Ware and Stanstead Abbotts, so I want to thank everyone who has donated an egg.”
